10 Ways to Celebrate the Fellas for Father's Days

It’s almost time to celebrate dads! Father’s Day is just around the corner and whether you’re a dad yourself, celebrating your own dad, or celebrating your son who just became a dad, Downtown Milwaukee has a wide variety of events for both you and your family.

1. Drop-In Tours at the Milwaukee Art Museum
Explore the themes of fatherhood throughout the Milwaukee Art Museum’s collection. On Sunday, June 16 from 2 to 3 p.m., you can join the Father’s Day tour in Windhover Hall, near the museum’s entrance and admissions desks.

2. Father’s Day at the Milwaukee Brewers
If your dad is a baseball lover, then heading over to American Family Field may be the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day. Enjoy beer and brats as the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Cincinnati Reds. Several Downtown bars and restaurants offer complimentary shuttles to the game, including The Milwaukee Brat House, On Tap and Oak Barrel/Third Street Tavern/Who’s on Third! First pitch is slated for 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 16.

And hey, if you can’t make it to the game, take your dad to one of Downtown’s many sports bars to watch the game on the big screen.

3. Father’s Day Family Magic Show at The Social American Tavern
This Father’s Day, enjoy a 30-minute, family-friendly magic show at The Social American Tavern. There will also be a Father’s Day Brunch Buffet available at the restaurant (sold separately).

4. Moto Father’s Day
The Harley-Davidson Museum is geared up and ready to celebrate all the dads! For one day only, all dads will get into the museum for FREE on Sunday, June 16 with in-person admission (not valid for online purchases). Visitors can check out the history of Harley-Davidson through a variety of exhibits and then head over to the MOTOR Bar & Restaurant for a Beer-B-Q on the patio.

5. Steak & Bourbon: Father’s Day Dinner at ARIA
ARIA at Saint Kate: The Arts Hotel is offering a steak & bourbon dinner for dads this Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16. The dinner includes a 35-day dry-aged bone-in center-cut NY strip with house chimichurri and is paired with a Bardstown Bourbon Flight.

Who doesn’t love a local brew with an amazing view? Fortunately, Downtown Milwaukee plays host to numerous beer gardens. From the Third Ward to the lakefront to Schlitz Park, there are a variety of summer staples to check out.

7. Father’s Day at Discovery World
Celebrate Father’s Day endlessly exploring Discovery World along Milwaukee’s lakefront! As a special treat, all dads will receive free admission on Sunday, June 16 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. So, grab the kids and celebrate downtown.

8. Polish Fest
Whether you’re Polish or not, enjoy Father’s Day weekend at Polish Fest on the Summerfest grounds! Enjoy Polish cuisine, music and even some soccer at the three-day event. And who knows, you may even learn you’ve got some Polish blood after meeting with the on-site genealogists.

9. Lakefront Festival of Art
Grab dad and head to Lakefront Festival of Art, June 14 – 16! Featuring more than 100 artists from across the nation, visitors can shop paintings, ceramics, fiber, metalwork, jewelry and more. There will be food from local restaurants, beer and wine gardens, and an outdoor art studio!

10. Cruise the Milwaukee River
If Father Day’s bring blue skies, it may be the perfect opportunity to soak up some rays on the river. Cruise down the Milwaukee River aboard the Edelweiss with their Sunday Funday Cruise. You can also set sail with one of Milwaukee Boat Line’s Sightseeing Cruises. If pops is more of adventure seeker, Milwaukee Kayak Company offers daily kayak, canoe and paddleboard rentals.
