Safety measures that help you MKE it back downtown

August 25, 2020 /   Hand Sanitizer Milwaukee Downtown

Downtown has missed you and is glad to have you back! Your safety is our top priority. It’s why we’ve expanded upon our clean, safe and friendly efforts.

Our masked Public Service Ambassadors are canvassing the streets to ensure your comfort by staging signage that encourages social distance and facial coverings. Clean Sweep Ambassadors are out in full force. From sweeping sidewalks and emptying trashcans, to wiping down high touch surfaces such as picnic tables, they’re keeping downtown sparkling clean.

Hand sanitizer stations have been strategically placed throughout downtown in high traffic areas, along with vinyl-wrapped picnic tables in the parks, perfect for easy sanitizing. Take your next lunch or picnic in the park! Downtown is all in as more restaurants, shops and attractions continue providing safe service.

Active Streets Milwaukee DowntownMilwaukee’s Active Streets are also here to keep you safe! In a partnership with the City of Milwaukee, Active Streets are closed or partially closed to traffic to create a safe space for people to dine outside.

The newest additions downtown are Old World Third Street and Jefferson Street, which add outdoor patio seating for restaurants and bars in the area. Grab a socially distanced bite or beverage next time you’re out.

Milwaukee continues to make progress in reducing the impact of COVID-19 and these steps are just part of the process. Let’s care for our neighbors to #MKEitBack as safely as possible.
