HNTB Corporation recently relocated its Milwaukee offices to the Two-Fifty building at 250 E. Wisconsin Avenue. HNTB Corporation currently has 105 full-time employees in Downtown Milwaukee, with over 5,000 nationwide. They chose this new location due to a couple of factors. Downtown Milwaukee offers many advantages, and transportation options are some of the best features. The new location also allows HNTB Corp. to retain their current talent and clients, all while attracting new talent and clients. This location also allows its employees to get access to the food and beverage scene in Downtown Milwaukee. Their staff has really enjoyed exploring the different food, beverage and in-house catering options that downtown has to offer. The new space has some incredible views and being located in the middle of East Town at a mid-rise height with historic districts surrounding the building, HNTB has a really unique, urban feel.
HNTB is deeply rooted in infrastructure and transportation in particular, so some of their most recently completed projects include The Hop Streetcar and the Hoan Bridge rehab. In addition, HNTB was a major sub-partner with Populous and EAU on the design of the Fiserv Forum. Some upcoming projects they are currently working on are: I-43 from Bayshore to Grafton, East-West Bus Rapid Transit, MMSD’s 2050 Facilities Plan, Kinnickinnic River Water Course improvements, they are playing a small role on the infrastructure around the Wisconsin Center District expansion and ‘Frame the Square’ improvements planned for Cathedral Square.
Ashley Booth, VP, explains, “When you can list that many projects that are literally visible from our new space, it only helps play on a sense of pride. At the end of the day, our employees become Engineers, Planners, Designers to influence positive impacts on our communities. Physically seeing the projects or using them daily only further encourages that sense of pride.”
Ashley is most excited for a number of downtown developments, including The MAC, Irgens 770 North, Journal-Sentinel rehab projects, New Land’s Ascent, HQ 501, any private development announcements in the Deer District are all exciting. Of course, the Couture, which would include streetcar extensions, and the opening of the 3rd Street Market Hall both bring more, great food options to downtown.
